Washington School House Hotel / Park City / UT / USA

Park City, Utah is a classic North American ski resort. This is where the US National Ski Team has their base and this is also the site for the world renowned Sundance Film Festival that descends on this small mountain town at the end of January every year.

It is here in Park City where you’ll find the Washington School House Hotel. This is a boutique hotel in the right sense of the word with 12 beautiful rooms. Already when you pull the hand break of your car you are looked after by the attentive staff. They are there to support you with whatever (more or less) needs you have. It is like they breath service.

The WSH Hotel used to be a school, hence the name. This lime stone building was constructed all the way back in 1889. The school closed in the 30:s and over the years this has been both a social club for veterans as well a B&B. In the beginning of the 21st century the building went through a total refurbishment until it opened again in 2011 in its current glory.

There is so much to love about the WSH Hotel. Everything from the intimate atmosphere, the interior design with beautiful European antiques, the reclaimed wood floors and maybe best of all: the pool. It is terraced into the hillside which makes it a perfect place to relax after a day on the mountain. You know what!? The best thing was actually the breakfast. Or wait! The après-hike snack buffet. Or maybe the service. Ok, just go there and decide for yourself!

…love the outdoors and you want experience beautiful nature but at the same time stay at a design boutique hotel with the highest level of service. Then this is the place for you.

My favorite thing about this place…

…is the breakfast. It might be the best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had.

What not to miss when staying here…

…depending on the season there are a ton of activities to fill your days. If you are here in Winter skiing is a given. We came here in the height of Summer so we spend our days hiking in the surrounding mountains (imagining how great the skiing must be here in the Winter).
