Talldungens Gårdshotell / Brösarp / Sweden

In south Sweden there is an area called Österlen. It is often referred to as the Tuscany of Sweden due to the rolling hills that with a little bit of fantasy resembles the Italian region. This is where you’ll find the small village of Brösarp and more importantly Talldungen Gårdshotell. This used to be a retirement home and a B&B until current owners Emma and David took over in 2011 and since then have slowly transformed this place into the destination hotel it is today.

Talldungen is a gastro hotel that has become really popular lately. People come here to eat and enjoy. They only offer rooms with dinner, so if you stay over you automatically have a table in the popular restaurant. It is open to non-hotel guests as well if you’re not able to snag one of the 18 rooms

The interior design would be best described as simple eclectic country luxury style (not an official style description my my own definition) that is fitting so well with the building and the surrounding area. Rooms as well as the common areas are furnished with vintage furniture and second hand items which makes it feel like you are staying with your extravagant grandparents in the country. I think it looks amazing.

Welcome to Talldungen Gårdshotell!

Wlecome to Talldungen! I love how the entrance is framed by pots and plants and couple of tall cypresses.

I love rooms on the top floor, with an attic look and feel. Slanted ceilings makes for a cozy hotel room.

We stayed here in early Spring so a little too chilly to sit here, but I can only imagine how great it must be to spend a pale Summer evening here listening to the sounds of nature.

We went for a hike in the area surrounding the hotel, across the meadows down towards the sea.

M out walking in the beautiful surroundings, heading back to the hotel after being down by the sea.

RG inside info

This place is perfect if you…

…if you like really good food and want to combine good eating with good living in a relaxed environment where it is easy to kick back and relax.

My favorite thing about this place…

…is the food. It was so good. And simple. Cooked with a lot of love and paired with some really interesting organic wines.

Quality booster…

…is that they have their own on-site bakery. The breakfast bread was to die for. Enough said.

What not to miss when staying here…

…is to hike in the surroundings. The Haväng area is so beautiful with rolling hills and lush meadows leading down to the sea. To hike here is a great way to work up an appetite.
