Central Warsaw hotel combining quirky and elegant design

PURO Hotel Warsaw Downtown / Warsaw / Poland

The PURO chain is slowly growing, adding more hotels to its portfolio of contemporary urban hotels. It will be interesting to see if/when the first hotel will open up outside Poland. I can see that their kind of hotel would work beyond Poland. When writing this there are 8 PURO hotels where the latest opening is the Warsaw Old Town that opened in early 2025. Before this, I have stayed at the PURO Krakow and Wroclaw, but this post is all about the PURO Warsaw Downtown.

The hotel is located right in the centre of town, a short walk from the Palace of Science & Culture (which is one of my favorite buildings in town). The hotel is situated in a new building on a quiet back street which to me is perfect, you have the vibe of the city right around the corner but when it is time to retreat back to your hotel, it is calm and quiet.

When entering the hotel the first sense is one of openness and airy. The look is contemporary but still warm and this same dual feeling was applicable for my room, even though there was a kind of retro-element to some of the interior. The color scheme was subtle and gentle, and like in the other PURO hotels I have stayed at there is a lot of interesting art on display, both in the rooms and outside. One of the items that stand out to me is the headboard of the bed in a design I have not seen before. It was somehow both strict and soft at the same. time.

Some of the things that stand out at this 148-key hotel is the roof top bar, the co-working space in the lobby, the free bikes and not the least, the complimentary coffee in the reception. On top of this they offer a lot of activities, ranging from weaving workshops to city walks, which is rare for urban hotels. And what I also have to mention is the garage, where you take an elevator with your car down to the under ground car park. Something childishly exciting about that.

Welcome to PURO Hotel in downtown Warsaw!

The lobby gives you a good idea of what this hotel is about. Bright and welcoming space with a contemporary look & feel.

Checked in and heading up to my room on the 5th floor.

My room was, just like the lobby, bright and warm, but the difference is that the design, although modern has more of a retro look to it, which I like.

The small but well-stocked hotel shop next to the reception.

The Magari restaurant where breakfast is also served.

This is the Loreta bar, located on the top floor of the hotel.

If you fancy a bike ride, there are bikes for loan in the hotel.

One thing I find so special about Warsaw is the diversity when it comes to architecture.

I am especially fond if these old brutalist buildings from the years behind the iron curtain.

What a difference a T can make.

My favorite building in the city is the Palace of Culture and Science.

Heading back home to the hotel after a busy day exploring the city.

This place is perfect if you…

…are coming to Warsaw and are looking for a fresh, vibrant hotel, located an actual stone throw from XX square with the famous Palace of Culture & Science. If this is what you are shopping for, Puro Hotel Warsaw Centrum will make you happy.

My favorite thing about this place…

…is something that I have mentioned when staying at the other PURO hotels as well. It is the free coffee in the lobby. Whenever you get a craving you can just pop by for a fresh cup. I think this is so brilliant when there are so many hotels charging for every little thing (I know there is no such thing as free lunch, but still…).

What not to miss when staying here…

…is to go and explore the diverse cityscape of Warsaw. The city has so wide range of architecture on display from the hypermodern to the really old. I am extra fascinated by many of the buildings erected during the time behind the iron curtain. The heavy, brutalist, imposing buildings from that era are equally beautiful and ominous.
