Stylish Ibiza Art Deco hotel oozing of fun 80s design and colors

Paradiso / San Antonio / Ibiza / Spain

There is a fine line between creating a concept and being gimmicky. This is a hotel that I think manages to stay on the right side of the border. The concept of 80s kitsch Art Deco fantasy works so well, especially in this place. For some reason 80s, Art Deco and Ibiza is a marriage made in heaven.

Concept Group is the company behind Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel and it is one of 6 hotels on the island (We also stayed at one of the other ones, Cubanita, which you will be able to read more about in a later post). All the 6 hotels are created around a theme and this one is Art Deco + 80s, so basically if you’d watch Miami Vice you would have a pretty good idea on what to expect. There are no alligators on site, though so you can relax.

It feels like this hotel should be situated along Ocean Drive in South Beach is it really stand out among the other buildings on the street. There is party vibe that is ever present at Paradiso. It is one of those places where people come to see and be seen. Maybe I don’t need to mention that this is an adults-only hotel.

The design is 80s through and through with all the things we love (and love to hate) from that decade. Neon, pop art, soft pastel colors and the ”live-for-the-moment” approach to life that was (maybe rightly) lost when the 80s became the 90s and the grunge movement took over.

The hotel was created by IlmioDesign and was completed in 2018. In total there are 60 rooms on three floors. Each floor has a signature color: turquoise, yellow and pink. Our room was on the pink floor. Don’t think that this hotel is only here to make you smile, it has a lot of great design. One thing I especially like is how they have used different color mosaic floor tiles to create what is meant to look like rugs. Very clever.

And if all of this isn’t enough the hotel has a real USP. They have their own in-house tattoo studio, Coyote’s Tattoo. Perfect if you want to make a memory from your stay on the island stay with you forever. I wonder how many bad/strange tattoo decisions have been made under the influence in that chair…

Welcome to Paradiso Art Hotel!

I love how Paradiso Hotel almost looks like some kind of Art Deco spaceship that took wrong turn and missed its landing spot on Ocean Drive and instead landed on the shores of Ibiza

You have got to love this reception. It looks good enough to eat. Fun and colorful, just like the rest of the hotel.

Every floor has a signature color. From the ground floor going up they are turquoise…

…yellow (my favourite)…

The 80s called. it wants its bed back. :-) I know it is kitschy but I love this!

The level of detail in the design is impressive.

I am such a big fan of bold design. When a designer isn’t afraid of using color and dares to fully realize his/her concept.

I think it’s a great idea to bring in some wood in the colorful design to create a kind of style conflict.

Our balcony. The pale blue sky, the pink tiles and the white facade fit so well together.

The pool area of the hotel. Managed to take this from our balcony just after the pool area closed for the day.

M is going for a swim just behind the hotel while the sun is slowly setting. Tricky to get in and out of the water due to the sharp rocks but trust me when I say it was worth it.

There are sooo many great beaches to explore around the island. This one is called Cala Escondida and is located a short drive from the hotel.

Time to call it a night and dream of the eighties.

This place is perfect if you…

…like to party and want to hang out with like-minded people. It feels like the party begins by breakfast and continues all throughout the day.

My favorite thing about this place…

…is the fun design. This feels like a hotel that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It is all about having fun, enjoying life and taking the day as it comes. It is a great kind of vibe once you have released the hand break and let yourself be immersed by it.

What not to miss when staying here is…

…to go down to the rocky shoreline behind the hotel. We had some really great morning dips here. It is a little tricky to get in and out but it is so worth it. This is also a great place for a front row seat for that famous Ibizan sunset. A short drive from the hotel you have some of Ibiza’s most famous beaches. We liked Cala Escondida most. Come early before the crowds
