3 great cozy getaways

Cozy getaways

A close friend and one of my most loyal readers shared that she was a bit disappointed when she tried to search for “cozy getaways” and the result showed zero hits. To meet this I decided that get on this topic as soon as I heard about it.

When I think of a cozy getaway I think Autumn, open fireplace, cashmere jumpers, long walks in beautiful nature, lazy mornings in bed and total relaxation.

So here are three of the hotels I’ve stayed at that fits the bill, symbolized by M cozying up with something to read in every photo.

TypeO / Ystad / Sweden

This hotel invites you to disconnect from reality for a while, to find a slower pace and just relax. It is located outside Ystad in the countryside and run by super friendly couple Micha and Magnus. When staying here I would suggest you go to the beautiful hiking area called Snogeholm just a short drive away. Since this B&B only has one room it feels like staying at your own, private country retreat It doesn’t more cozy than this.

Briol / Barbiano / Italy

High up on the mountain side, above the village of Barbiano in South Tyrol, Italy is where you’ll find my first runner up on this list, Briol. It is a property that has been with the same family for generations and they have done a wonderful job to care for its heritage. You can only reach this place by hiking or jeep taxi so you are really disconnected from reality. So great to come here in the Autumn, go for a hike and when you come back sit covered in a duvet and enjoy the spectacular views of the Dolomites. it doesn’t get more cozy than this.

Spoor 62 / Moore / Belgium

In the Belgian countryside, outside Moore there is a 2 room B&B situated in an old railway station. It is called Spoor 62 and is run by Irma and her cute little springer spaniel, Zoê. Irma does everything she can to make you feel at home and she makes sure you’re not missing anything. The old railway tracks have been transformed into a hiking-/biking path that will take you deeper into the countryside before you return to Spoor 62 for something to drink and some relaxation by the fireplace. it doesn’t get more cozy than this.

So, these are three of my favorites. Do you have any that you would like to recommend? Please write me.
