My first 100
My first 100 hotels
I can’t believe I’ve reached this milestone already. That I have posted my first 100 hotels (actually it is already 102 posts…). When I first started this blog in the Winter of 2020/2021 I had been thinking about it for quite some time. I started an Insta account some years ago but felt that I wanted to do more. I was encouraged by the husband Mango and friend Anna (actually, she was more pushing. No! Forcing me) and I am so happy they did since I love my new found hobby.
Above mentioned friend asked (read: challenged. Ok, forced again) me to do choose three favorites of the 100 hotels I have posted so far and trust me when I say that it is been agony. Why? Since all the hotels that has made it here are unique and great in their own special way. Otherwise they would’ve never ended up in this blog. :-)
My selection process has been totally random although I tried to use both head, heart and gut. And after changing the my selection a gazillion times, here is where I landed in the end:
Villa Arnica / Lana / Italy
Villa Arnica is the full package. A hotel in an old, yellow (my favorite color) building surrounded by greenery in the cute village of Lana. This is one of three hotels in this village by hotel magician Klaus Dissertori. The other two are Schwarzschmied and 1477 Reichhalter.
So what are the main reasons for this place to end up on my hot list? In short: the attentive service, the pool, the heritage, the breakfast, the design, the coffee and the amazing honesty bar.

Breac House / Dunfanaghy / Ireland
This is one of those hotels that I knew I was going to love before I even stayed here. Breac House is a true passion project by the wonderful owners Cathrine and Niall. It is sitting high up on a hill side with splendid views of the surroundings. There are only three rooms so if you want to stay here, make sure to plan well in advance.
So what are the main reasons for this hotel to end up on my hotlist? The owners (so lovely!), the architecture, the breakfast tray that is delivered to your room, the private sauna, the intimacy, the (stiff) drinks, the backpack with food that you get delivered to your room to bring on your hikes and the disconnected-from-the-world kind of feeling.

Ett Hem / Stockholm / Sweden
So the one that made it to the top of my list is the magical Ett Hem in Stockholm. The interior is created by one of my guru’s Ilse Crawford who has done an amazing job. It is so warm, welcoming and cosy. From the moment you step through the doors you are lost (in a good way). Every single detail has been cared for and I ate it up with a spoon. Love this place! Love it!
So what are the main reasons for this hotel to end up on my hot list? The design, the food, the relaxed atmosphere, the attention to details, the bed, the fire place in our room, the in-room products, the service, the location, the building and that Ilse Crawford’s spirit is alive in every single corner of the hotel.

So, these are three of my favorites out of my first 100 hotels. Any that you think should have been there instead or do you have any suggestions about places I should stay at? Please write me.
