Norrmans Farmhouse / Klippinge / Sjælland / Denmark

Lars and Anna were in a popular Swedish TV show called ”Husdrömmar” (House Dreams in Swedish) where we could follow their journey when they renovated a Danish seaside villa. The year after there was a follow up program when they returned to see what had happened with Lars and Anna’s house dream. That was when they shared that they had just bought an old farm in the Danish countryside that they were transforming into a hotel. And what you see in these photos is the result.

When you arrive you walk through a narrow, green passage to reach the main building. The whole place screams of eclectic, colourful, curious design. This B&B has been created with a lot of passion and a desire to create something unique through experimentation. They have made some really bold design choices that requires some ”fingerspitzgefühl” and I applaud daring designers every day of the week!

We have been lucky to visit this place twice and I am pretty sure there will be a third time as soon as we are allowed to start to travel again. The interesting design together with great hospitality is something that will always make me return to a hotel.

Welcome to the Norrmans! To the right you see the converted barn and to the left the villa.

The garden has plenty of secret hideaways to discover.

The sofa, the mirror, the wallpaper… Basically everything.

One of the bedrooms in the villa. I always say yes to a four poster bed.

Colors, patterns and more colors. Love it!

The downstairs sitting room in the villa. I love the use of colors and prints.

M having a glass of wine in the sun with our friends H and A. They seem to be having a good time.

There is plenty of space around the hotel to just kick back and relax with a book and a glass of wine.

There is an abundance of plants at Norrmans. An amazing way to create maximum coziness levels.

The interior style that Anna has created is truly unique. I have never seen dark cork been used as a “wall paper” before.

H and A still drinking wine, but this time in the cozy lounge, waiting for dinner.

The communal table where dinner is served in the evening. A great way to get to know the other guests staying at the B&B.

How inviting is this table with plenty of wild flowers from the garden.

The candle holder is everything!

Upstairs in the barn there is a shop where you can buy unusual and quirky furniture and design items to bring home.

The sun is setting on Norrmans and it is time to retreat back to our room and call it a night.

Just a short drive from Norrmans you’ll find Stevns Klint, an UNESCO site well worth a visit.

RG inside info

This place is perfect if you…

…want to stay at countryside hotel with unique, personal design. Anna, Lars and their business partner Linda has created something worth experiencing.

My favorite thing about this place…

…is how relaxed this hotel is. It was so nice to choose a spot in the large garden with a book and just disappear for a while. I also really like the relaxed service. They make it feel as if you are staying with friends.

What not to miss when staying here…

…is a place called Stevns Klint a short drive from the B&B. These white chalk cliffs are a UNESCO site and well worth a visit. Put on some sturdy shoes and go for a coastal walk.
